How do I become a therian?
There is no ritual or initiation that is involved in becoming a therian- therianthropy is not a religion or religious practice, it is an aspect of identity. If you are a therian, you just are, it is part of your identity.
If you are a Therianthrope, you will know it. There is a familiar feeling with the animal, and a feeling of “this is who I am” some describe it as a certain feeling you get in your chest, an uplifting feeling of relief when you see your theriotype. Do not confuse this with is bestiality, where the person is aroused because of an animal; this is completely unrelated to Therianthropy.

There are a lot of fake therians out there. A stereotype of a fake therian would be "all black wolf and alpha of a pack". There are wolf breeds that are almost completely black but they usually have shiny silver-ish tint on some spots. Usually if there is a true therian who identifies as a solid black wolf it is most likely a wolfdog and if not then it would most likely be considered otherkin. There are fake therians who only do it for the gear and don't understand the spirituality behind it. It's easy to spot who is real and who is not.
