Therian Education

Now, not every therian can shift but a good chunk of therians are able to shift into certain kinds of shifts. Sorry to give your hopes up but shape-shifting into your theriotype ISN'T possible. Let's talk about the different kinds of shifts.

Mental Shifting: Mental Shifting takes place when a person's mind reverts to their animal form. They will begin to feel like their theriotype and act like it. This includes howling, yipping, barking, meowing, you name it! Your senses also become heightened the more you're into the shift.

Phantom Shifting: This occours when a therian can feel/see their limbs. They may see a tail, ears, or paws. Only they can really see their phantom limbs however, other therians can sense their phantom limbs. This is not shape-shifting or physical shifting.  

Dream Shifting: It occours when a therian is sleeping and allows them to become their theriotype in their sleep.

Cameo Shifting: A type of shift where a therian shifts into an animal that is not their kin-type. This DOES NOT automatically mean you have awakened a new theriotype, but it can be evidence sometimes to a new theriotype. 

Astral Shifting: This is when a therian travels to a non-physical plane of existence aided by deep meditation, lucid dreams, or trance-like states. Once in the plane, a person can see the morph of their astral body or shift the astral body to that of the theriotype.

Sensory Shift: When your senses appear to be your theriotype's senses.

Aura Shifting: Occurs when a Therian changes the shape of their auric field or energy field to that of their theriotype.
